Pros & Cons

Pros

The chain oiling system works well. The chain-tightening mechanism is well-designed and quick. Make sure the prong is fully set into its cap groove. For <$70 it's all cleaned up.

All in all, very satisfied. Arrived on time and intact. Everything works, which i couldn't say about the worx that i traded for this. It is fantastic.

Stong fast, electrical tool. Suggest you use a 12awg extension cord, but a 14awg meets the specs. And that might even be used with some portable pure sine wave power supply.

Saw is lightweight, easy to use and cuts well. Works well on clean up too, just watch the angle so sawblade does not get pinched. System looks rugged compared to my previous saw.

Cons

After about 20 hours use the oil pump stopped working and the reservoir never empties any more. Replacement leaks even more than the first one.

The chain it comes with is not very durablle and needed to be sharpened after 1 small tree. Oil flys everywhere mixed with chopped up junk making it very easy to lose your slimy grip, again, super dangerous.

Saw has enough power to get the job done on acorn trees, without being heavy or overly cumbersome.

My previous saw had the motor mounted inside the body which required a right-angle gear drive; a much weaker design and potenti...  Read More

I would pass by any saws that have some sort of all-in-one chain tensioner, it is a poor design.

Price

Best deal i found for my needs - sawing up branches that fall off mature oak trees into nice firewood :)

Dependent on sale cost at the time.

Renting a saw would cost the same as just buying this.

Packaging/appearance

The first thing i noticed was there was a glob of grease in the gear box, but none was on the gears!

Competitiveness

Having said that, we all must keep in mind you usually get what you pay for, but if you recognize that fact and avoid asking a ...  Read More
