Pros & Cons
Pros
This is the last piece missing in my toolset as i didn't need it until now. It is functional, more convenient, and more environmentally-friendly to boot.
One 4 ah battery & 1 tank bar oil, will last as long as one tank of 2 cycle andamp; bar oil - about 45 minutes.
It is a little slow but not enough to matter. While it's on the heavy side, it works very well. Extra batteries are $$. It is every bit as powerful.
Cons
The design of the saw allows a lot of sawdust into the inner mechanism, clogging the oil dispensers. This prevents the chain from being lubricated sufficiently.
Maybe this chainsaw is good for cutting limbs in your backyard, definitely not the tool for getting a good amount of firewood. I estimate about 1/2 - 3/4 of the noise level of gas powered chainsaw. The cutting speed of the saw is slower than gas equiv... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Really solid product, really good line of 40v yard tools.
Excellent safety feature and long run on battery.
Worked great for several days then suddenly started coming off.
The chain seems to be stretched out and cuts very effectively and the new battery i purchased provides much more battery life.
Price
This saw only cost me a total of $200.
00 including the spare battery, so it won't take getting much more work out of it to justify that expenditure.
Small price to pay for the overall handiness of this saw.
Overall, a great option for the price.
Shipping
Replacement sent after i was thoroughly waterboarded.
Ten days later (today), i arrive home to a brand new replacement chainsaw that was shipped.
Competitiveness
I have to admit i didn't have high hopes for a battery powered chainsaw when compared to my husky 455 rancher but this greenwor... Read More

Because it is every bit as good as any saw i've owned (stihl, husqvarna, poulan), it is therefore "better".
I bought it because is uses the same battery and charger that my greenworks pole chainsaw uses.
