I think that if you follow the instructions only tightening the screws 50 until all the pieces are together and then tightening everything you will find that it does indeed fit

I tightened the screws too much at first making the table not perfectly square

Loosened everything ensured level then tightened slowly alternating sides so it would stay even

Do not tighten the screws until they are all in else you won’t be able to get them all in and you won’t be able to adjust legs to be even and not wobble
