At the end of the day its not a requirement and many homes will never need it consider it just like home insurance its something you have and that you pay for but that you hope you will never have to use

I had intended to install this in my primary residence but upon opening the box i discovered that the fittings are for 34 pipe

Remember to shut off the main and drain down the system by opening a faucet or two on the upper floor or you will end up with a wet mess once you cut the pipe

Just think it through before you begin as once you cut the pipe you no longer have a water supply to your house and calling a plumber on a weekend or on an emergency basis is going to cost plenty
