The only way a safe sturdy plastic can get this damage is by scratching it with a metallic abrasive sponge. Overall, the functionality is the same. The curved rim is ridiculous. It's convenient to use, but has design flaws.

The screen at the bottom is removable, but overtime, it will let leaves seep through. The tea leaves flow into the hole where the seeped tea should flow.

The long plastic attachment is a nice feature, and it would come in handy but for the fact that the filter falls out. The second issue i have is that the stationer gets so dirty. The filter traps water under it while rinsing.
