Now trace a circle around the edge of the magnet with the x-acto knife.
It's easiest to hold the blade tip down immobile against the tape, then rotate the magnet (with the tape stuck to it) the full 360°.

I believe plastic tape has a higher coefficient of friction than bare metal of the magnet surface and therefore contributes to the magnets gripping firmly against a refrigerator cabinet side so it doesnt as readily slide downward

One issue i had with these is they came unassembled so the hook part has to be installed to the magnet part

They can hang horizontally or vertically and once the hooks are in they dont come out
