Pros & Cons
Pros
I like how inconspicuous it is and that it isn't plastered with a brand name in big print. I like the umbrella, however it is not exactly as pictured.
The fabric seems durable and appears unmarred after 6months of intermittent use. The construction and design seems well thought out and durable. The ones i have bought are sturdy and last for years before wearing down.
The nice curved edges help prevent the wind from turning it inside out. It seems pretty sturdy and can manage strong winds pretty well so far. Been tired of having to replace them after a big windy rainy day and the umbrella ($10-$30) collapses.
Cons
The plastic mechanism fails often -- sometimes it fails on arrival; other times it fails shortly after the purchase. This supposedly larger umbrella isn't much better as it has low head clearance. After several months this umbrella is useless because ... Read More
The brand, spanking new umbrella is not foolproof against gusts of wind. Other than the collapsing canopy the handle has a bad oder to it. The handle still reeks horribly, even several feet away. It is not a deep dome that properly covers your upper t... Read More
The frame splines are plastic and two of them snapped in half this last time i opened it. The latch to hold up the umbrella is made of cheap plastic, not metal as with most $5 sidewalk umbrellas. The springs that they use are very cheap and do not las... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Stands up to its name in quality.
I have to say in today's world of cheap products this is impressive quality.
I would not even consider another product.
Would highly recommend to anyone who is as sick of cheap low quality umbrellas as i am.
Price
While the price initially dissuaded me from purchasing this umbrella, it has turned out to be worth every penny.
Competitiveness
My hiking friend seemed to be buying several umbrellas a year so i convinced him to get a gustbuster.
We’ve owned gustbuster umbrellas before and will always replace with a gustbuster!
