Ed friedland is an amazing teacher. Each lesson builds upon the previous. Nice system by itself or in tandem with a teacher.
My understanding of the bass really jumped. That in itself is a very satisfying experience and makes this book a worthwhile investment.
Cons
It's nice that they introduced the box shape, but there's really hardly any examples of the box shapes in practice.

I do wish it had better and more interesting practice exercises and would do more full page 34recap34 exercises that incorporated everything learned up to a point

For instance it has you learn the e string then the a string then the d string then the g string then it just moves on to other new things without ensuring you have a solid grasp on all the notes and positions or providing memory and strength building exercises
