Pros

Percolator seems solid, and you can wash the insides in the dishwasher. This pot is easy to use and easy to clean. Nothing lasts forever but i usually get 3-5 years out of one.

The hamilton beach 12 cup electric percolator coffee maker is a weighted stainless steel coffee pot with easy pour design. I find the coffee from this hamilton beach is full bodied, dark and strong. Coffee to savor.

It brews quickly reaching temperatures faster than a cheaper model. I always unplug my coffee maker once it is done percolating so it doesn't burn the coffee. It makes strong, hot coffee that tastes better than i get from my drip machine or keurig.

Some people use a disc filter in the metal basket. This keeps the grounds in the basket and also slows the the water flowing through. Use the fold-over filters and there’s no grinds in the coffee.

Cons

New design seems to be change for the sake of change. There are obvious quality control issues with this model, and that's probably why it was so steeply discounted. Stopped working after 2 uses.

Easy to clean and maintain and i can have hot water on hand for making tea or brew up fresh coffee with ease.

Use the 4in percolator filters, use good beans, and use a good grinder set on coarse for percolating.

Likely the poor fit of the cover over the ground coffee holder, grounds are in every cup.

Dont plug it in until the pot is all set with water and ground coffee.

I bought this to use at work instead of paying high prices for coffee at shops on the way to work.

It was really easy to contact customer support and within 2 days they notified me that i would be receiving a new one.
