Pros

This coffee maker has some issues with a learning curve at first, but it is worth plowing through. The small frustration here is because i use the built-in scale i have to run through the steps.

The brew basket is open to the air. No lid also means that you'll get little splashes of coffee water on the counter around the unit as it brews. The quality of the coffee brewed by this machine leads me to forgive its shortcomings.

The borosilicate glass is more sturdy than it appears and probably less apt to break than most glass carafes. The carafe has a glass handle, the water compartment has a modern light display. There’s no replacement for the glass coffee carafe.

This is the first countertop machine i've seen that does this - and it's convenient. Meanwhile this strange unicorn of a machine kept popping up in searches.

I was looking at much more expensive brewers but this one’s price point, ease of use, and ability to do my own pour-over sealed the deal!
