Pros & Cons
Pros
Bottom tray is removable for large cups and inside the tray it stores the interchangeable parts and pieces. With the flex brew, the insert is a small basket (with filter) this coffee maker is ideal for either brewing a mug with a coffee pod or brewing... Read More
The quality of the coffee is exactly what you'd expect with a typical drip machine. The brewed coffee is considerably hotter thus a better cup of coffee. Easy to set up and choose strong or normal brew.
Cons
You definitely get what you pay for in this case, and nowadays $70 or so is cheap. The second one is very disappointing to. Dead on arrival. Hamilton beach customer service a minus 10.
The manual says to purge the system when this happens which i've done several times but it does not solve the problem. Oh by the way, i’m also out lots of paper towels and time from cleaning up the ginormous mess this contraption leaves.
Takes longer to brew an 8 ounce cup of coffee in this machine than it takes to brew a 18 ounce in a french press. Regardless, this brewer is very slow.
If the k-cup holder isn't in place, major risk of breakage when closing the top. It makes an awful mess and i have grounds in every cup. It blows the lids off the pods. Back to keurig.
Highlights
Quality
It is easier to use and with the bold brewing makes the coffee stronger.
I am very happy with this purchase!
Instructions that came with the coffeemaker were not clear in operating this coffeemaker.
Great with k-cups but not so good with the ground coffee unit.
Price
If you can find this at a good price, go for it.
Imo, purchasing should come down to features and price.
Packaging/appearance
Turns out the needle that pierces the kcup was full of coffee - as in rock-hard, packed full of coffee.
I popped the lid open about six months ago because i forgot to change the k-cup and was trying to swap out the k-cup but water ... Read More
Competitiveness
This coffee maker is slower than the keuring and is a little loud but the coffee is hotter and the taste is great.
Takes a little longer to brew, but totally worth the savings in k-cups and kerig coffee maker.
I have bought at least 4 keurigs and they never last so i decided to try hamilton beach.
