Speaking of water i have only used tap water which is required for proper steaming and have not had any problems with it causing any orange or any other color discharge or spotting on the clothes as many others have experienced

There is nothing in the instructions about the autooff safety features nor about how to clean the iron using the self clean button i had to email hamilton beach to get that information which was ridiculous to have to do

The major issue i have with the iron and my reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the self clean feature is not friendly to anyone with physical handicaps and presents a safety danger to everyone regardless of ability

Now for the safety hazard when cleaning the iron hot water gets trapped between the real soleplate and the thin outer nonstick skin that is crimped onto the the actual soleplate
