My advise when making drinks with ice is to always start up the blender with just the liquid then gradually add the ice from the top fill hole as the blender is running make sure the dial selector is set at the appropriate speed until you reach the proper consistency

I would however avoid putting the canister blade base and spigot assembly in a dishwasher because the high heat may distort the plastic and washers which could cause leaks

Honestly this is not that hard to clean dont understand the comments about it being a pain to clean unless you have an aversion to hand washing

I got this blender for the job because it was the cheapest one that had halfway decent reviews and because it had a plastic carafe which wouldnt shatter and kill the kids if it broke

These all made a terrible racket with the baseball and super ball being only halfdestroyed and the mini football being shredded only on one end because it couldnt fit low enough to fully engage the blades

That wasnt the blenders fault it was just the shape of the football
