A fast paced, fast action and extremely engaging, well written novel. The pacing is perfect for driving. The action keeps building and keeps the reader's interest engaged.
Main character is likeable. Good characters have flaws and the villains have redeeming characteristics.
Matti learns the last tenant was murdered there - and crazed orcs and werewolves keep attacking the house and the property, ransacking it.
Her concise storytelling also keeps you engaged without being redundant. I enjoyed her snarky humor and the way she accepted everyone even though they are flawed.
Cons
This author needs major editing. The protagonist seems way too cavalier about witnessing the * of werewolves and possible danger. I am not interested in a hammer-toting tough gal who shrugs off violence, threats, and death.

This also has a slow burn subplot and its clear this romance will play out over the whole series 8 books and the spicy level increases but nothing so far over twoseattle native matti is a half dwarf who flips houses with her goblin assistant and troll partner using her mothers magical dwarven hammer to demo cabinets and occasionally thumb bad guys
