Turns out that there was not a hole cut in the ice maker to let the cubes dispense

I tried to take the screws out of the front to see what i might be able to do but the assembly would not come off it appears to be glued on as well

If anyone has a concern with the plexiglass that holds the ice in and you dont want a child to remove it all you have to do is run a hot glue gun along both sides and that will keep a child from being able to pull it out
