Pros & Cons
Pros
This engine is rechargeable, and it came with a full charge. Reasonably quick recharge rate. Once the engine needs recharging the metal prongs recognize the need for recharging and allow the user to put the wire back into the front of the engine.
My kids love this toy. The only hiccup i've had is now i want one for me to use while my kid plays with his. I like the noises, it makes steam train noises, which makes no sense, but it makes noise which your kid will love.
Train controls on android phone are great! No messing with swapping batteries. The only downfall is that it has never connected to the app.
The fastest among our other brio (green, ridiculously slow) and the no-name red train ordered on aliexpress (pretty fast) it's much faster and stronger than our older engine, much to our toddlers' delight who enjoy pitting the engines against each oth... Read More
It works great on our step2 train table though sometimes needs a little push on the steeper hills. The train is faster than i expected and could pull about 5 cars up inclines, so another surprise. The only downside is it can really only pull 3-4 cars ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
The sounds are great, easy controls, and being rechargeable just makes everything sooooo much easier!
Simple interface, control the bell and whistle and stop/start remotely.
He just uses the buttons on top of the train and loudly, proudly exclaims every time he makes it to and makes it stop.
- the motor makes a lot of noise when it operates (regardless the sound affects)- it feels like the middle wheels are redundant.
Price
The reason why i only give it 4 stars is because is quite overpriced for just a one piece train engine.
Great value for your money, remote option is great.
Overall, worth $30 which seemed steep for an engine.
Overall, well worth it if you are into a cell phone connected toy, but i don't think i would cross the $30 threshold for it.
Shipping
The train is faster than i expected and could pull about 5 cars up inclines, so another surprise.
We bought the hape rempte control train on amazon and has always had issues with the front charger port.
Competitiveness
Very fast speeds compared to other battery operated train brands.
It has a rechargeable battery, goes faster than the brio trains and stays in the groves in the track better.
I have many different toy train engines (brio, ikea etc.

My son would build 12 car long trains going up 12 levels and theyd only fail because the cars with the more flexible magnets were too weak to hold the car together
