The glass is thick and sturdy enough for careful use, but don't drop it. It is easy to remove with a slight tug.
Stainless steel strainer basket evenly steeps the tea. Two tablespoons of loose leaf tea takes up about 1/4 of it, after steeping. Ceylon apricot or vanilla ceylon.
The teapot gets hot, so a tray or doily may be required to protect your table. With the lid on, the heat lasts a tolerable amount of time. The handle stays cool enough for pouring.

Somehow over the years little teapots were no longer a staple at import stores and loose tea was nowhere to be found in the grocery store aisles

Use is simply boiling water in a kettle adding tea leaves to the filter pouring hot water in the teapot and steeping
