Pros & Cons
Pros
The ceramic version is better, but potentially breakable.
The melitta has a tighter funnel than a keurig. The tighter funnel means less beans are needed to make a strong cup of coffee. This is why the flavor of the coffee is different between the two. It is a great substitute for using those pods to make cof... Read More
Love my new hario pur over drip coffee maker. Used ceramic drippers for years. I wish i had purchased this stainless one from the beginning. The dripper's design is also worth noting.
The transparent plastic not only looks sleek but allows for visibility of the coffee as it brews. Whether you’re a seasoned barista or a home brew enthusiast, this dripper is an excellent investment.
Cons
The performance is fine, but completely unremarkable from the regular metal version. The smaller hole prevents the weight of the waterand coffee from causing the filter to open at the bottom, wasting the coffee and making a mess. This leaks and makes ... Read More

It costs a little more but is well worth it in the long run.
Packaging/appearance
I can say this dripper is one hell of a tough product; it arrived in a torn box packaged with 12 cans of chili but was not damaged at all.
Easy to pack in a suitcase, lightweight and sturdy material.
Competitiveness
The paper is far superior to supermarket brands.

Both coffee drippers are size 02 however they obviously cannot use the same paper filters because the melitta uses standard 02 filters that any 02 sized coffee drip machine also useswhich i also use whereas the hario uses a special cone shaped filter similar to the chemex

In my opinion i think i prefer the taste of the melitta because i think the hot water steeps longer in the grinds due to the fact that the hole in melitta is much much smaller about a couple milimeters wide

The hole in the hario v60 is massive almost the size of a quarter

Anyways i got the hario for 9 bucks shipped so no big deal but i definitely would not pay more than 9 for it especially because you have to buy the special cone filters online or at a specialty coffee shop since normal super markets dont carry them
