I give it a 5 star for performance as a tripod alone but im a little concerned about comfort when carrying on a sling with the barrel up
The friction locks on the legs hold tightly at lengths between the extremes and the detents at both ends are very secure
When adjusting height there is a spring that pulls the leg in the retraction direction helping to collapse the telescoping leg quickly
It operates quietly if you are careful not silently however it does not clank or rattle during carrying
