I did buy a mattress which it does have a very very thin prob half an inch thick with it but felt it was too thin

Important to note when assembling not to depress the centre of the base when straightening the sides as this must be in the up position for the sides to click to secure

Ensure all users have read assembly instructions because if sides are not locked in correct sequence the ends dont lock correctly and could potentially collapse with child inside
