Haven is a slow paced, detail immersive and methodical read. The writing is beautiful, and the descriptions are vivid and so well done. This novel is superbly researched and written.

Covered with birds but obviously untouched by humans, artt declares this as their new home. When artt decides they have too many creature comforts, including food, things take a turn.

The story of three artt, a scholar; cormac, a former pagan turned monk; and trian, a young monk given to the monastery at the age of thirteen. Cormac is an old subsistence farmer and mason; he knows gardening and foraging and building.



Cons

Nothing like a little christian guilt to demand obedience. I really wish i hadn't wasted my time reading this book, but one i get past halfway, then i feel that i must finish it. Sometimes imaginations should not be met with pen and paper.
