Price
They might cost a little more, but they are worth every penny!
Worth the price for crystal clear water at low back pressure.
They may cost half as much, but they are cheap and don't last, nor do they clean as well.
I just wish it was priced better.

I agree with others who have said that it's not worth buying "compatible", or even so-called "oem replacement" filter cartridges.
Have tried a number of competitors, both name brand and "no-name" brands.

This is supposed to work with my old hayward filter installed in 1988

It is the same dimensions as my old 1988 filter yes im finally replacing a 36yearold filter but the diameter of the hole on either end is slightly smaller

This is due to a ridge that goes around the top 18 of the hole
