These expensive hayward filters just filter better than cheaper knockoffs. As a an everyday filter it works just fine, catching impurities and anything that slips past the strainer.

The hole opening below this ridge is identical to the original dimension on my older filter. This one is a cx1200 re which fits perfectly in my cylinder.

Most water passes over the top of the filter, simply recirculating it to our pool. The old one flows much better and it clears the pool much faster. The pool is still cloudy.

Buyer beware. Not amazon's fault. It's the supplier false advertising. I suspect that these were not genuine but a knockoff.

The material on the new filter looks completely different from the original. The pleats are irregularly spaced, the central tube is a pipe with holes in it rather than a plastic lattice. Some of the filter pleats were wrapped unevenly.
