Pros
After receiving this fantastic unit i felt compelled to add my 2 cents. The unit comes with adapters to go from 2. To 3. Degrees. My only complaint is that the temperature setting/display on the unit is simply not calibrated.
It is reasonably quiet and we don't run it at nite. My pool is on timer and runs about 4-5 hours a day. The spa heats up much more quickly, but obviously it's smaller (but i swear you can boil an egg in it!
We live in marin (northern cal) and the temps are enuf. Took opening water temp of 59 to 85 in 2 days.
Our pool is approx 27,000 gal. My pool is 32' x 52' roughly 45-50k gallons in long island, ny. Heats our 13,000 gallon pool about 1.
The control layout is simple to operate and well thought out. Easy to run. Delivered on time with no issues.
Cons
Techs" aren't techs at all. They're knowledge is minimal, they guess, they generalize. Only heats my 24,000 gallon pool 1 degree for every 2 hours. Unit is less than 2 years old and compressor went out.

Competitiveness
I installed a disconnect panel next to the unit and ran a pre-wired 8/2 wire to the unit from a 40amp breaker.
This is heating our inground 15,000 gallon pool.

Hayward as a company needs alot of improvement on how to back their product you are directed to a local dealer in your area for any issues and its like pulling teeth for someone to look at an issue without complaining or trying to charge you to look at it under warranty and would refund when hayward refunds them

We live in western pa north of pittsburgh and although we have only had this heat pump a short time it works awesome for our 25000 gallon pool it barely runs its 4x as efficient as a gas heater and it heated our pool 10 degrees in less then 12 hrs
