Took opening water temp of 59 to 85 in 2 days. Live in florida and the day of install water temp was 57degree. We live in marin (northern cal) and the temps are enuf.

The heater is fairly out-sized and located in favorable environmental conditions. Heats our 13,000 gallon pool about 1.

The control layout is simple to operate and well thought out. One was easily repaired. The unit is a little heavy to move but with a moving harness, two people can move it.

Quiet unit. It runs pretty quietly considering the size of the fan and compressor. It is reasonably quiet and we don't run it at nite.

The heat exchanger is a tube within a tube.

Customer service is rude and condescending. They admit it needs to be serviced but after many phone calls and emails we still have no service scheduled. They’re knowledge is minimal, they guess, they generalize.

Unit is less than 2 years old and compressor went out. I don't think me installing it has anything to do with the compressor failure. The heater stops working. Hayward warranty only covers parts not labor.

Pentair makes equally good products, and their cs is at least minimally acceptable. Hayward’s is practically nonexistent. Save yourself time and frustration.
