Cons
The blow molder seems to be a bad part. The multipart handle is loose on that one. Then both sides. Then spraying everything.
Water started shooting through a pinhole size spot on the top seem. Seam split is real and is not repairable.
Second filter that has leaked from the seam. Seems once the warranty expires so the tank.
Box had been opened enroute as evidenced by a shoddy retaping job. Says there is a 20% restock fee. Looking for a refund, but not optimistic.

We have had several 100 degree days, and keeping the chlorine and ph levels correct allows this filter to do the job efficiently.
It was super easy to set up and works perfectly
Worked fine---it was installed in less than 2 hours
Our old sand filter had a hole worn in it after 13 years of use.

My total investment, including installation and additional materials, approached $1,000.

Was just dropped off, i unpacked and broken base.
Note: i thought the sight glass was missing, but it was inside the box.
I (dad) will ask the local pool store about this part, but for now i will give the unboxing of the hayward ws270t a 5-star.
Competitiveness
I had a cheaper brand sand filter on before this one and couldn't get my water anywhere close to right.
Hayward's customer service directed me to local pool suppliers, but i found the pricing steep compared to diy options.
My water seemed clear before but no comparison to this one.

Mine are all pvc so its relatively straightforward

The pressure in the pipes was around 10 psig in my system so make sure the couplings are well connected and glued
