3rd this brand i bought works, no hiss, no pops sound good through rotel amplifier and nht speakers very happy with it.
1st extractor did not work at all2nd one would hiss loudly when no arc hdmi signal was present and would make pop noises.
Output goes to a small amp (b06y67pzb1) and then slim speakers (b0bb6wj2bg).
Price
Hooked everything up in just a couple of minutes and it works great and we saved about $120.

I just replaced our tv and found that there was only an optical out and hdmi arc for audio

Make sure you choose pcm from your tv as audio output type and toggle to arc if you are using arc

Worked fine other than a static pop through speakers after turning on the tv

Im no expert and im not sure it was definitely this dac causing the pop as it powered up

But i now power it from a usb outlet adapter so that it is always on and the pop no longer happens when i turn the tv on

I have an energy monitor and it uses less than 1w and is utterly silent so im happy leaving it on

In my case i ran hdmi to this piece then out to rca red and white cables to a receiver amp that powers a 4 speaker surround sound system
