These give enough room away from the tv they can plug and unplug their gaming systems without risking destroying the built-in hdmi ports. Great as a small extention for a roku, firestick, or chromecast into a tv or stereo av component.

Used to get a better wifi signal for a streaming stick

Those stick devices can get very hot and compromises the hdmi board on many component systems like onkyo sony denon etc
