It appears to be recharging but the unit will not turn on even when plugged in. When i remove it from the charger it has no power.

Norelco series 5000 is phenomenally better and easy to open, clean, and close. Current electric shaver, a top tier panasonic foil shaver has poor battery life. That shaver also has an overpowered motor and several sensors.
