Next to the on and off switch is the switch that controls the infrared function that can be turned on and off

I have been using head lamps for years tried a number of them from those that were like wearing a boat anchor ones that squeezed they grey matter out your ears and those that did not shine past its own lenses

I am not overly a big fan of turning the unit onoff with a wave of a hand or swaying of a branch or trying to get a pesky moth to leave you alone but maybe sometime in the future i will find a use for it i am happy that it is not a mandatory use feature
