Pros
The opening third of this novel is phenomenal. Not too graphic with either of those though. But that's a pretty nitpicky thing, because overall i really did enjoy the dialogue from characters like arlene. Even the dogs' personalities were highlighted.... Read More
Hill's prose are more restrained than his dad's but still pack some potent philosophical punches. The biggest thing he's always outdone his old man on is knowing how to stick the landing.
Cons
The main character is a real trope is actually interesting, but he's just in the wrong book. Characters are consistently described as goth without a single reference to actual goth music.
The story just bores the * out of me. Really ended up hating it.
People who thought it was scary were readin’ a different version" "the horror is over the top to absurdity with revving ghost trucks and hypnosis tricks he learned in ‘nam" "a frightful waste of money.
Readers learn by that that hill just wanted to write about an aging rock-and-roller, slapped on a cool horror premise.

I fell in love with the characters.
He has earned his place with the greats.
I wonder how many other similar artists have picked up this book with the same expectations.
Unfortunately, i wasn't as enthralled with the rest of the story and felt that it didn't deliver on its creepy premise.
Price
Judas "jude" coyne is one of my favorite characters to come along in a while.

At no time does the story lag or give you a chance to get bored theres a sense of having to stay on your feet for whats coming next
