I don't know what effect the heat has on the lithium battery, as the heating element sort of cooks the battery with the heat-only model.

To prevent that i recommend that you always put on some kind of cloth wrap on your knee before strapping this heating pad on so that the heating pad doesnt directly contact the skin

The wrap has its own gradual cool down sequence and will eventually drop down to lower heat settings as the battery gets depleted ending up at the blue led as the battery finally is used up

I really recommend this heated kneepad i bought it for my mother because she suffers from joint pain and can relieve pain which means that it works 3 different temperatures and the battery can last longer after the first or second charge

For the last couple of years i have tried several different knee braces knee bands knee tens units every snake oil ointment on the face of this planet then i saw this advertised price was good but i was skeptical but i went ahead and ordered it it arrived 3 days later charged it up while i was at work when i got home my knee was killing me the deep dull ache and uncertain if i was able to stand any longer for the rest of the day let alone walk

This wrap has a rechargeable battery that if used on the low setting i can wear all day at work 10 hours building power lines and cycle it on for 20 minutes and off for 20 and never lose power
