Pros

The helikon m65 is about as close to us mil-spec as you're likely to find. Matches miiltary-spec of the alpha industries m65. Better than the alpha industries on price, everything about it is quality.

Very sturdy, should last years. Shell material soft less rigid than a original m65. Everything is a bit stiff at first but breaks in nicely.

Quality is excellent. Very pleased. Thanks for making a great product. Lastly exceptional products.

Shorter zipper makes for a bit more comfort in the typical 4-door sedan. Zipper is top notch quality and works smoothly. The only drawback to the jacket itself is the zipper which seems to be to short by about 5 inches.

Both, however, are completely serviceable. Will highly recommend to friends.

I've been searching for an m65 field jacket that was up to the quality of those that i owned years ago.

The quality of the zipper on the collar also leaves something to be desired.

I had a couple of problems with the helicon reproduction.

Price

This jacket is definitely worth the price.

St, instantly agreed to a full refund, but it cost $27 to send back the jacket i didn't want.

Shipping

Shipping was much quicker than indicated as well.

It appears to come from the uk via florida, but shipping took less than 10 days.

Packaging/appearance

Seems to be basically identical to the mil-spec one i owned in the 80s.

I had to put some lubricant on the zip but it works fine.

Competitiveness

At $100, it's definitely worth the modest up-charge in comparison to m65's those offered by helikon's competitors.

Definitely better than the tru-spec or rothco versions that cost just a little less--worth the extra money.

I am 6'1, 240lbs, and it just didn't fit as well as the rothco version.
