Old lady gamer here.
Nice mellow tunes. Pikmin with a twist. But i think the pikmin are adorable as always!
Captain olimar crashes on a mysterious planet and needs the pikmin to help repair his ship. The game encourages you to play through all the levels.
Cons
Pikmin" is the most disappointing 3ds game i've played on this system. It plays more like a phone app than a pikmin game.

It’s because of the way you have to hold the 3ds so you can use the d pad with the left hand and the stylus with the other.

It is a side scroller primarily except for pikmin park where they live explore for things on their own once youve assigned them a task not as much a strategy game as 3 deluxe for switch
