This unit blows those away and justifies the cost differential. Reasonable size/weight and good safety features. Inncluded sink faucet is a nice touch. Have a towel on hand as it may leak though.

Cons
Company is most likely swamped with defective return claims. Instead of resolving the issue with a refund, they offer 15% off a new one. I'm wondering if i got a defective unit or if that's how it works?
This thing leaks unbelievably. It leaks from the bottom. Very annoying when showering.
My issue is it won’t ignite. If we turned up the heater more than 1/4 way it kept shutting off and then restarting! Then turn the temp gage down half way.

Quality
Being able to adjust the temp is crazy good after being frozen or burned by the zodi over the years.
This is probably one of the best investments i have made.
Connects are water tight and somehow they engineered the condensation problem out of the heating process.
The hose disconnects blue collars needs more positive seating on hose connectors, not difficult to seat properly.

You can youtube, "build a portable power pack for $25" and learn how.
I also refill my small propane tanks, to save money and not waste.

I previously cobbled together my own version of this using a cheaper water heater that ran off of 2 dcells and a propane tank a 12v rv water pump a mess of hoses and adapters and an old shower head

The carrying bag has multiple pockets i suggest using one for wet stuff like the shower head and another for the power cords and adapter that probably shouldn’t get wet

The water pickup tube is weighted so it will sink to the bottom of your tank or bucket

The water got plenty hot i shower in water somewhere near the temperature of the surface of the sun and i couldn’t take this at full heat when starting with 70 degree f water

If your water supply is a melting glacier or you are in fact beelzebub’s nephew you can spray it right back into supply bucket to raise the temperature of the supply until the output is hot enough for you
