I bought this as central heating pipes are plasticneeded to find which way pipes were run in as moving a radiator to a different location and paranoid about putting fixings in the wall for pictures shelves etci put central heating on after a few minutes detected exactly where pipes were even though u could not feel the heat in the wall unit picked everything up brilliantlyand behind the skirting boards tothink it would be great for central heating pipe leaks under the flooras in my last place of work we used thermal imaging cameras on distribution boards and wiring to detect excess heat loose wires cause firesgreat for the price

It didnt really work for that as i think the insulation is too thick to detect the body heat of the rat

I needed this to solve a central heating problem no it cant see through walls if thats what youre expecting but if used correctly it can highlight irregularities in the heat patterns i am now using it for far more jobs in my house and family and friends so easy to find heat loss points and detect hotspot in wiring etc would highly recommend if you know how to use one and what you expect it to do wish i had bought one earlier great value and will pay for itself in no time

The display sometimes freezes for a shortish time but normally becomes responsive within half a second or so
