Pros

This is the same linear voltage regulator that is used on the nodemcu board to power the esp8266. Worked well with my airport hotspot modification. Was working on a led project using esp 01 with some 5v powered leds and esp8266 is 3v3 powered.

Yeah, these are fake. They just dump unregulated input voltage out the output pin.

I use this little board to power electronics that need to communicate with the esp8266 at 3.

Left to right on the side with the led and pins, the pinout is vin, vout, gnd.

3v current to external sensors etc when i use esp based boards, because some of them can't handle much with the onboard voltage regulator.

Was able to fit the module inside the battery case.
