Works as advertised. Wished they made this part without the pre soldered headers. Not a fault of hiletgo but of the chip maker.

Both units now do nothing when plugged in. The second one has a problem with rebooting constantly after uploading the firmware.

Serial numbers on the chips were scratched off, which is curious. Nothing on the usb serial port (at any speed) tried arduino ide and flashing nodemcu.

This is a good alternative to an arduino nano for small projects!

Although the price is a little steep compared to other ecommerce websites, it work fine.

Check out adafruit as they have a board called huzzah based on the esp8266 and it is similar.
