This device does the trick. Works good. Was as described. Effective and inexpensive. Uses usb audio dongle to port the audio to/from the radio.
Cons
Trying to use to isolate 60 cycle hum when recording on a raspberry pi through a usb microphone. This usb isolator slows down data traffic. Save your money.

Look this is probably a terrible idea but you can connect a wire to the usb ground pin and then stick the other end in an outlet ground slot with something plugged in to keep it in place

Anyway i mainly got this because i was using my electric guitar and running it through some digital effects and the gain was boosting that high pitch whine making some distortion settings pretty useless
