I have been using two of these extension cables/connectors and they work well for utilizing 1x pcie lanes for gpus.

The peripheral connector is also told tall and impacts the case, preventing an attached card from securing to the back case slots.

Attach the cable so it is at a right angle instead of coming straight out of the connectors.

    As other reviewers before me have already noted the adapter has one characteristic that is not desirable if youre trying to use this in a tight case mine is the inwin bl040 its impossible to sit a gpu in an expansion slot

    I ended up dremeling my case to create a new slot and wedging my small gpu with some foam and duct tape above the motherboard
