Pros & Cons

Pros

The keyboard is large enough, even though the keys are smaller than on a piano. It's compact enough to take anywhere. It is powerful enough to be the lead instrument, but careful control of your breath allows you to effectively mute it.

Tonal quality of this instrument is quite nice. Sound is fine and, for the price, it's a nice instrument. Soprano - high alto range.

Comes with a lightweight zippered case and the tube and mouthpiece. I find it easier to play with the tube than the mouthpiece because it is difficult to see the keys. Also helps to keep some of the spit out of the guts and reeds.

The sound is absolutely perfect. It sounds nice and is right on as far as tuning. Perfectly in tune with itself, though a few cents sharp of concert pitch.

The keys work smoothly. It releases as soon as i press it so it's not really a problem. If used with extra care, because of the cheaper handle etc.

Cons

Lower/higher keys sound awful both in tone and in clickety clack construction. If you stick to the middle octaves it's not so bad.

This one manages to be both flimsy and stiff all at a real feat! The top frame of melodica is not tightly fitted, it bends if lightly pressed. Many keys are sluggish.
