I think many diyers would skip the glue to avoid disaster in case they assemble something incorrectly and need to take the item apartand i think some manufacturers probably feel that way too

They know their product needs to be glued but it could just end up holding a badly assembled piece of furniture stuck together permanentlyplus the assembly process would take a bit more time and effort
