The sponges are squished flat with all the air taken out as they are dehydrated and when you add water they poof back up like magic.

I'm going to europe in a few days, and i automatically threw a pack in my bag.
Packaging/appearance
I took away one star because the product is wonderful but they use an unnecessary huge plastic tray in the product packaging.
They come in adorable little packs (each containing multiple pads).
They came in a flat box, and within the box are wrapped in sets of 10 or so.
The only thing i don't like about this product is the box the packs of sponges come in.
Competitiveness
Otherwise they seem to be identical to other cellulose sponges that i've used.

These aren’t as soft as the type that have more of a dense sponge with tiny pores but they’re nice for a little bit of exfoliating as you scrub
