The first assembly is the seat and back assembly the second is the base which includes the hydraulic cylinder

It looks like glue was either accidently dropped on the seat during packing or the person that packed the chair had glue on hisher hands

This is similar to the model from the same manufacturer that i bought in the early 1990s in costco and which lasted till a couple of years ago and may have been damaged by vandals because the metal bar holding the back of the chair was mysteriously damaged

The tilt lever wasnt attached to anything so it cannot work

The upholstery is nice but the ribbon edging that holds it to the seat is stapled in with one staple leaving a twoinch long piece of cloth hanging

Its still a good chair though as long as youre ok with the tilt not functioning
