I bought this product about 5 months ago to combat the extreme heat the california summer awarded us this year and was neither incredibly impressed nor sorely disappointed

We left it running throughout the night to maintain the temp and didnt have a problem sleeping despite the noise

Id suggest the fuzzy insulating tape to seal it up lot of leakage from where the plastic brads are on the window rail

My other two portable units a smaller lg in the bedroom roughly four years old and the unit this replaces a noname which ran for nine years and finally gave up the ghost this summer

Flimsy plastic screw to hold the window panel pieces together and one of the tabs broke on the piece that attaches the hose to the window panel

Or maybe the plastic is just so fragile it broke from the light pressure of putting it into the window panel

Called honeywell and theyre supposed to be sending out a replacement piece though the old one with the missing tab is ok for now
