Pros & Cons
Pros
This is exactly what is required for honeywell controlled multi zone hvac systems. Using a fluke 117 or similar multimeter and some simple diagnostic steps.
Item as advertised, fast shipping. Saved me $80+. Saves a lot of money with having this part available.
Replaced the old lennox dat sensor (bigger, not compatible with hz432 zone board) it is held in by 2 screws and uses 2 wire nuts. They are also diy-friendly to replace if you follow appropriate electrical precautions.
Cons
Coils still freezing even with a newly installed ac unit.
Highlights
Quality
Product works perfectly and was a breeze to install.
Easy to install and worked like a charm.
Low and behold 2 hours later heat quit working again.
The old sensor reported about 300x the resistance of the new sensor.
Price
I saved a few hundred bucks too avoiding an overpriced hvac service call.
Great price, cheaper than the supply house!
Knowing what an hvac repairman charges to do the simplest of tasks, the $30 risk was minimal to pay someone to come look at it.
This was a cheap fix for a customer and saved him an extra $120.
Shipping
With a little bit of troubleshooting,i found this part was bad, hopped on amazon and had it the next day.
The original was sending a near constant value of 178f and was not letting the furnace fire up.
Packaging/appearance
Edit: i originally wrote a 1 review because i was in a tight attic space when i open the package and only found a knob so i was... Read More
Competitiveness
I did measure and compare resistance of the old and replacement sensors and found a huge difference.
Local parts suppliers wanted three times more for the same part.
I guess that even honeywell has supply issue problems so with the benefit of the doubt, i have raised my rating to a 5.
