Needless to say i happened to be up during a blizzard and looked out and saw the red warning light at 2am

Unhappily knowing that he left not much margin for error time wise until freezing of pipes would begin i had to go out in the blizzard and start heating the house using many electric heaters

By the time the gas repair man got there the furnace thermostats were just coming off of their stops at 55 deg

Point of story do not set the warning thermostat too close to freezing give your stand by helper some needed advanced time to prevent freezing
