It is easier to clean as well - i clean it every week and rinse the filter, and the filter is still going strong.

Failure to do so will result in a faster dirty filter, and odd smells originating from the unit from the resulting contaminant growth.

This humidifier stopped working after just over a year of me owning it.

Price

Filters are about $10 each and i use 1 or 2 a season.

Filters are costly but i'm going to try the hint of using vinegar weekly.
