Cons
The filter dries out after completely soaking within 24 hours. The filters (really a wick) are expensive, and if you add the extra cleaning cartridges it becomes a very expensive unit to run.

Product works great and is easy to use.
This is a very simple yet effective product.
This is not the "germ free" model.
That said, compared to the original filter included with the humidifier, these seemed to be slightly thinner walled.

You have to be careful to shut off otherwise the filter will dry out and harden

Orange stuff in the filter can be washed out it seems to be just iron or metal in it from the water

We used tap water and the filter eventually developed a light brown crusty appearance along its edges even when flipped daily with each reservoir refilling
