Pros & Cons
Pros
This humidifier works great and again it was a super easy install. The more it runs the lower the humidity overall but that's not a bad thing. Even though this humidifier does not require a drain to operate, you need either a drain or something to cap... Read More
It works perfect on my 1400 sg. It works like a champ!
Cons
Biggest worry is the water overflow drain line is not at all watertight. The installation manual on the honeywell website makes no such statement. Added about 15% humidity to a 2800 sq ft home for three months.
Highlights
Quality
All you really need is a good pair of tin snips, drill, 3/8" bit, 1/4" driver, and misc.
Used for years for whole house system and it works fairly well.
The humidity control device you install on the return duct does not give a digital readout.
This is a better version of a unit that failed after 20 years of continuous service.
Price
I installed almost this exact model in my last home and found this for a good price.
The price was right for me and the replacement pads are only $6 on amazon.
We have a 1900 square foot home, we bought a humidity monitor ($10) from home depot.
Packaging/appearance
This humidifier came well packed with all the materials needed to install it.
Competitiveness
Although the old unit had a different brand name, i believe that it was probably made by honeywell.
